Simon will take you on through the beautiful landscape along the River Dee where you can see ancient castles, a Royal Residence and mountains that take your breath away. We can visit a nature reserve and learn about the horrible and bloody history under gallows trees.

We can explore stone circles and standing stones, mysterious carved Pictish memorials, clan cairns and even visit a whisky distillery.

Take a trip along the Snow Road up to the Lecht or beyond to Tomintoul or even Grantown-on-Spey, admiring the scenery that makes up the Cairngorms National Park – and for the adventurous a trip with Simon in his Morgan can be arranged (0ne passenger only)

Visit the early 18th Century bridge where more recently Mary Queen of Scots was filmed; find a hidden gem of a chapel.

In the Braemar area we can find the house where Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous tale of pirates and parrots, ‘Treasure Island’, was written, visit the Linn of Dee and marvel at the rushing water.

Visit the World Famous Highland Games venue and Duke of Rothesay Centre and experience the newly opened breathtaking Fife Arms Hotel

Hear about the raising of the Jacobite Standard in 1715, visit the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother’s picnic bothy and 16th Century croft house and horse mill and find out about and learn about Braemar Castle – Scotland’s first community run castle – from Simon who is also chair of Braemar Community Ltd.
